Quinault Lake School district has earned the Washington State Academic Improvement Award for the 2003-04 school year. This is a new annual award given by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction to schools and districts that are improving the learning and accomplishment of our state's students.
Similar to the format of OSPI's 2001 state reading goals, schools and districts will receive the Academic Improvement Award if they reduce by 10 percent the number of students who missed meeting the reading, mathematics or writing goals from one school year to the next. A school or district can earn this distinction in one or all three of these subjects for each grade level.
OSPI has sent a plaque to each school and district that received the Academic Improvement Award for 2003-04 through educational service district 113. The plates for each subject and grade level earned by a district or school for the last academic year have already been affixed.
