About
We are committed to providing the children of our community with the finest education. Our district mission statement speaks to our purpose.
It is the mission of the Lind School District to assure quality learning experiences for all students. The district is committed to ensuring that all students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in today's rapidly changing society. The Lind School District accepts the responsibility to instill in all students a commitment to a process of life-long learning and personal growth.
Our teaching staff has set challenging goals for the themselves and for our students. We are committed to becoming one of the very best (if not the best) districts in the state in terms of student success on the state mandated evaluations (Washington Assessment of Student Learning, WASL). We are very aware of the fact that beginning with the graduating class of 2008, students must meet the state standards in Reading, Writing, and Math (and Science in 2010) in order to graduate. Our staff is investing significant time and energy to become highly skilled in providing the kind of education required to meet these state standards.
We can use your help. Parents, extended family and community members can all play important roles in helping our kids succeed. Students need to know that school is important! They need to know that the adults in their lives support them and their learning. Parents can make certain that their kids attend regularly. Significant adults can model learning behaviors (reading, writing, discussing important issues, etc.). Parents can make sure that their kids do their homework. Parents and grandparents can read to and with their children. We hope and trust that you will join us in building a learning environment that will help our kids get the best possible education.
