District 518 Literacy Volunteers increase literacy among adult and school age students by providing students with individual help and instruction through volunteer service.

Volunteers are needed to tutor adult students in English, GED preparation, basic reading, and civics.  Volunteers are also needed to provide homework help for elementary and middle school students during after school programs.

No teaching or tutoring experience is necessary, training and an orientation are provided.  Volunteers should commit to tutoring once a week for one to two hours.
