Mission:
When the people of Lord of Life Lutheran Church come together to worship God, we hear the words of Holy Scripture applied to our lives, and we receive the gift of Jesus Christ's body and blood in Holy Communion. When we worship, we remember and celebrate God's promises to be with us, to love us, and to guide us in our daily lives.
Along with worshiping God, we place a high priority on growing in faith as a part of our church's mission. Lord of Life Church offers learning experiences for children, youth, and adults to shape us into followers of Jesus. Whether it's First Holy Communion instruction, Confirmation Class, or Adult Bible Study, we can always grow in our understanding of the Bible, in our relationship with the Lord, and in our ability to express our beliefs.
Worshiping God and growing in faith anchor us in the Christian life and give us strength for serving the Lord in the world. Our church has many ways to fulfill the third part of our mission: reaching out to others with the love of Jesus Christ. Individually inviting friends, family members, and neighbors to worship and other events at Lord of Life is one way that we share God's love. We serve those in need by cooking and serving food at the Sharing Table, a Saturday lunch site for the hungry in Edgewood. Throughout the year we participate in other community events such as collecting school supplies for our neighboring elementary schools, forming a team for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and sponsoring Christmas families with food and gifts.
We are excited about what God has done for us! Through living out our mission we share the love of Jesus Christ we have experienced with those around us!
