About Us:
The Madison Square Center for the Arts, located in the heart of downtown Madison at 2103 Main Street, provides cultural arts education and programming for the citizens of Madison and surrounding communities.
The Center houses 16 classrooms, a gymnatorium with a proscenium stage, kitchen facilities, and art and music studio space, along with the cultural arts offices of the City of Madison.
Classes in art, dance, music, drama, and martial arts are offered for all ages.
Constructed in 1890 as the community’s school, this facility served generations of students until the early 1990s. It has been designated as a historic site on the National Registry of Historic Buildings.
Now a landmark in the City of Madison, the facility has undergone renovations throughout the years to adjust to the growing needs of the community. Today it continues to serve the people of Madison, providing a venue to learn new skills, attend performances such as the annual Nutcracker Ballet, and enjoy creative expression.
As you use this facility, we hope that you gain knowledge, skills and enjoyment from your time here. If there is anything we at the Madison Square Center for the Arts can do to make your time here more enjoyable, please do not hesitate to let us know. We welcome your feedback and suggestions. Thank you for being a part of the cultural arts community of Madison
