The season begins in the first week in June and continues until the week prior to Thanksgiving. Each week, on Tuesday or Friday between 3 and 7 pm, you come out to the farm to pick out the vegetables you want from what has been harvested that day. Normally we have a volume limit but within that, and subject to availability, you may choose which vegetables to take. Availability of particular vegetables will vary from week to week and season to season. A share provides vegetables for approximately four people on a mixed diet or two vegetarians. We suggest that if you are new to CSA you start out with one share.
Mahaiwe Harvest C.S.A. grows a wide variety of vegetables for its members and distributes them at the farm from June through November. Weekly pickup of vegetables is on either Tuesdays or Fridays throughout the season. In addition to what has been harvested for the members is a U-Pick garden with flowers, herbs and extra vegetables when available.
Mahaiwe Harvest C.S.A. is a continuation of the very first independent supporting consumers group in the United States which began in 1985. The current grower, David Inglis, is a trained Bio-Dynamic farmer who took over the C.S.A. in 1993.
