We, the children and staff of Peaslee School, in order to make a better school community that is respectful to all, caring of its environment and free from harm, do establish this constitution for Peaslee School so that everyone can "aspire to go higher."
Be respectful and kind to Everyone.
Be safe and keep your body to yourself.
Respect the school and its supplies.
The School Improvement Plan was developed to include both school and district goals. We will integrate the recommendations from No Child Left Behind and the Strategic Plan to insure success for our students. As in the past, the current plan continues to identify four areas for school and instructional development and improvement:
Parent and Community: To create alliances between school, home and the community to further develop parent, school and community partnerships which enable children to be successful in school.
Curriculum and Instruction: To improve the social and academic achievement for all students through increased creativity, motivation and aspirations for higher learning. The plan focuses on school and district priorities, such as mathematics and English Language Arts; incorporation of standards based learning and assessment; differentiated instruction; and interpretation and analysis of data from district and state assessments.
Professional Development: To develop a planned system of educational experiences designed to enhance the instructional repertoire for staff members. Formal peer and collegial observation; technology professional development; and district professional development opportunities will enable staff to inform their instructional practice.
Additional School Improvement Goals: To further the implementation of social curricula, revisiting our School Constitution; expansion of the summer camp program for Peaslee Students; and specific goals designed to further our successful library and media program.
