All events and programs operated by the Chamber must fit into the purpose of the Chamber's mission statement.
About Us:
The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce is comprised of more than 450 members of the Midlothian area business community. Chartered in 1936, the Chamber continually strives to provide resources and information that make the community stronger and provide a backdrop of success for the members of its organization. Governed by a group of 15 directors, the organization includes the support of hundreds of volunteers to carry out its mission and goals.
History:
The Chamber of Commerce was organized in 1936 with Tom Dees of First National Bank as the first Chamber President. The same men that made up the Chamber of Commerce also were members and workers in all churches in town, the Masonic Lodge, Woodman of the World, American Legion, and Lions Club. They also purchased 5 acres of land as the Midlothian Silver Dollar Stock Show and built a modern stock show building and rodeo arena and finally the Civic Center building. These members were also the City Council members, Mayors, School Board members and served on dozens of committees, foundations and board for many years.
