Miss Litchfield County is a preliminary to Miss Connecticut.  A Miss America Local organization.

Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance. The Miss Litchfield County Organization provides viable educational opportunities to the young women of Connecticut through scholarships, service and volunteerism. It strives to recognize the intelligence, talent, moral character and personal commitment of its exceptional participants as they pursue excellence.

Participating in the Miss America system not only helps young women pay for college and prepare for a career, it also provides an opportunity to gain additional life experience, working on issues of importance to society, enhancing your personal and professional skills and developing your performance-related and other talents. Miss Litchfield County Pageant is held at the Thomaton Opera House.
