About Us
Diablo Basics at Monte Gardens Elementary School was established in 1979 as a districtwide school of choice in answer to parents’ requests for a Back-to-Basics program. Well-known for our commitment to high academic and social standards, we are not a neighborhood school, but serve a population of students from throughout the eight-city Mt. Diablo District. Our tenets are attractive to those desiring to typify our vision, which has become a deeply embedded part of our culture of success for twenty five years. As a school of choice, we have a waiting list of students wanting to participate in our program. Monte Gardens is a place where teachers and families want to be. Three teachers have been at Monte Gardens over twenty years, and we are educating the grandchildren of graudates!
