Our mission is "To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities."
Montgomery County United Way focuses on what truly matters, not just numbers and budgets.
In 1955, a dedicated group of Montgomery County businessmen realized the growing need for improved funding of county health and human services. Their vision was that a single community-wide fund-raising campaign would better support local agencies and donor dollars would reach throughout the whole county. With this goal in mind, the Montgomery County United Way began its work.
Since those early years, Montgomery County has become the second fastest growing county in the state of Texas. This growth increases pressure on existing, overextended health and human services and increases demands for new services. Due to these pressures and demands, the scope of Montgomery County United Way has expanded. We now continuously focus on implementing fresh and inventive ideas that address the changing unmet needs of our growing county.
We work with local government entities, schools, the business community, faith communities, and community groups to focus resources on priority initiatives. Every year almost half the county is touched by services supported by Montgomery County United Way. This means that thousands of people from all walks of life and income levels receive help each year.
The Montgomery County United Way has a great history of leadership and service to the county. By drawing on our strengths from the past and developing new imaginative leadership for the future, Montgomery County United Way is achieving its vision as an organization. Our 2010 Vision is to be "The recognized leader in uniting and mobilizing the county to connect our neighbors in need with new proactive resources for an ever changing and growing community
