About Us:
In July of 2005, John Sloan approached fellow Mt. Juliet Rotarian Mark Hinesley and asked Mark if he would help him start a new Rotary club in Mt. Juliet. Mark and John had been discussing this new club for more than two years, and both felt the time was right to begin a new club. Their reason for starting the new club was the exploding population of Mt. Juliet, and the fact that a noon club would open up Rotary membership to those folks who otherwise could not participate. At this point, informational meetings were held, and a nucleus of interested people was formed.
A board of directors was elected, and they began working on organizing the club. After many meetings and much hard work, on September 12, 2005, the Rotary Club of Mt. Juliet Noon began meeting as a Provisional Rotary Club. The response was overwhelming, with over 40 men and women seeking membership into the newest club of the world's oldest civic organization. On October 14, 2005, the Rotary Club of Mt. Juliet Noon received its charter from Rotary International and began in earnest its work in the community.
