History of Myrtlewood Elementary School

Myrtlewood Elementary School was built in 1965 in a relatively rural area south of Tuscaloosa. The elementary schools from Ralph, Romulus, and Fosters were consolidated into one new building. The name Myrtlewood was chosen because of the many crepe myrtles growing in the three communities.
