NC Statewide Folklife Festival Call For Volunteers

& Paid Homestay Opportunities

 

Volunteer for the NC Statewide Folklife Festival

in Downtown Carrboro!

 

The North Carolina Statewide Folklife Festival is almost here, and we're looking for volunteers to share their time and talents on September 28 from 10AM-5PM in Carrboro. I hope you'll consider joining us as we take over downtown Carrboro with music, dance, a maker's fair, documentary films, foodways exhibits, and so much more. We need volunteers to help before and during the Festival with things like outreach and venue setup. On the day of the Festival we are seeking volunteers to staff venues, provide logistical assistance, document events, and more. As our way of saying thank you, all volunteers will receive a complimentary 1-year membership to the NC Folklore Society.

Paid Homestay Opportunities

Want to host a North Carolina folklorist or artist during the 2013 Statewide Folklife Summit & Festival?  We're looking for host homes to welcome attendees from all over NC. Contact us if you have a spare room that you're willing to share for $25 per night on September 25, 26, and/or 27. Send an email to: [email protected] and provide the following information:

·       Name

·       Address

·       Preferred phone number

·       Email

·       Number of beds available for how many nights

·       Brief description of accommodations (2 twin beds in guest room, pull out couch in living room, etc)

·       If you have pets (what kinds), and notes about accessibility, smoking, or anything else a potential guest might wish to know.
