Our main purpose is to preserve and promote the history of Nevada County by preserving artifacts in our museums, and making our archives and photos available to the public in our Searls Library.

The society has over 450 members, many of whom live out of the area. We welcome new members, or anyone interested in the fascinating history of our county.
