About :
J. May: Hawthorne Nevada is a very patriotic place to live. Many of our residences and local businesses are decorated patriotically year round. This is a constant and appreciated reminder that we have troops in harms way. I find that News papers and TV news don't always remind us we have soldiers in harms way. It seems the longer the conflict goes on the less we hear. I am very thankful I live in a town that is dedicated to remembering. It is this constant reminder that provoked me to act on my occasional desire to do something for our soldiers.
I didn't know any soldiers but wanted badly to do something for our troops. I was thinking of being a pen pal or sending goodies to someone but didn't know where to begin. That's when I did some research on the internet and found exactly some soldiers I could help.
When I started looking at all the soldiers who wanted letters and morale boosting items from home, I knew helping one or two soldiers was not enough for me. I wanted to help so many more. That's when I decided to go bigger and start a non-profit organization, build a website and promote Nevada Troop Support. I knew there would be other Americans who would want to help more than one or two soldiers too.
By using several contacts and beginning a non-profit organization we will be able to help over 350 soldiers right from the start. As our list of contributers grows, we will be able to help more and more soldiers.
I have created Nevada Troop Support with an honest dedication to support our soldiers in harms way as much as time and resources will allow.
