The Downtown branch of the New Castle Community YMCA is the flagship facility for the organization.  The building itself was constructed in 1945 in large part to an initiative from the Rentz family.  Over the years the building has seen several changes.  The downtown location has the most comprehensive facilities of all of the branches.  All of the New Castle YMCA’s administrative offices are stationed at the downtown branch.

The downtown YMCA is home to Lawrence County’s most complete health and wellness center.  With two floors of fitness and exercise equipment the downtown Y is a great place to get healthy.  In addition to health and wellness options, the facilities also include a full functioning child development center, an aquatic center, gymnasium, racquetball courts, a spin center, aerobic studio, community room with complimentary wifi, child drop-in services, and a youth center.
