Established in 1954 and incorporated in 1955, the Niantic Sportsmen's Club is located on over 300 forested acres in the Town of East Lyme in southeastern Connecticut. With a membership of 850 men and women, the club's diverse, volunteer activities include recreational and competitive shooting sports, archery, fishing, and woodland-skill development and instruction.
A flourishing youth program introduces students to the safety and ethics of outdoor sports; its educators are experts from the club and the community who utilize state and national certification curricula. Championship-level Junior competitors have become well-known throughout the northeast and at national matches, and the club hosts a major Junior tournament every December.
Social programs include regular dinners appropriate to the season, and weekly, informal get-togethers in the club lounge and hall which are organized by club volunteers.
