North Pembroke Elementary School

The learning community of North Pembroke Elementary School seeks to unite students, parents, and staff in the lifelong adventure of learning as it relates to knowledge, the realization of individual potential, and the improvement of the community at large. The key values which unite our school community are caring and respect, a commitment to learning, and a sense of citizenship. We strive to introduce children to the world of the past, the present, and what is attainable in the future, while never forgetting that all of us are both educators and learners.

The North Pembroke staff and parents recognize our responsibility as three-fold: responsibility to children, to community, and to each other. We maintain a commitment to the learning, exploring, inquiring, and risk-taking of teachers and students. We endeavor to promote intellectual curiosity, aesthetic appreciation, and the responsible use of knowledge. We share responsibility for the quality of our school building. To relate to the greater community, we will continue to foster lines of communication with those who are committed to the well-being of our children.

While our teaching techniques vary, we recognize and respect different learning styles and unite with parents in our commitment to reach each child. The faculty is aware of the responsibility to parents to ensure they are apprised of their child's progress, are informed regarding school policies, and share a voice in matters affecting the school. The school fulfills its responsibility to the greater community by making its resources available to all.

Through this journey from kindergarten through grade six, it is our hope that our children will take a love of learning and a strong sense of self to their community beyond North Pembroke Elementary School.
