Mission:

As a church, we believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. The Bible tells us that Jesus was the Son of God who came to the earth to die for our sins and that salvation is found in Him and Him alone.

About Us:

Oak Level Christian Church was established in 1841. A one room wooden structure was constructed in 1863, and its old church foundation is still there. At one point, there was an Oak Level School which was a separate building from the church.

Oak Level follows the guidelines set forth by the Southern Christian Conference but has no denominational affiliation. Churches of the Southern Christian Conference are governed by six basic principles.

1. Christ - the only Head of the church

2. The Bible - the sufficient rule of faith and practice

3. Christian character - the measure of membership

4. A right, individual interpretation of the Scripture - a way of life

5. "Christian" - the only name taken as worthy of the followers of Christ.

6. Unity - Christians working together to save the world

The Bible is considered sufficient for living the Christian life without other documents to confuse the issue.

Oak Level Christian Church practices Open Communion and no sincere follower of Christ is barred from membership. Baptism is considered a duty. The usual form is immersion, but any mode may be applied.

Oak Level Christian Church is independent of national organizations. We welcome people of all denominations to our services as we continue in the traditions of our founding fathers in seeking ways to serve the Lord.
