Post 534, Orcutt California is part of The American Legion, Department of California, Area 6, District 16. We are proudly associated with units of the American Legion Riders, the Sons of the America Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. American Legion Posts can receive the IRS designantion of 501(C) (19) Veterans Organization.
The Post 534 does its good work through the support of volunteers and dedicated Veterans. Together we work to improve our local community, state, and nation while having fun in the process.
Effective Leadership in The American Legion and Post 534 Orcutt is provided by volunteer members, like you, who serve in leadership roles as Post officers and committee chairman. Post leaders provide honorable and noteworthy service to all the veterans we serve.
Leadership is not something you are born with and it can't be awarded or appointed. Effective leadership must be learned and earned through service. Leaders must possess stellar character and transparent integrity. The men and women who accept the challenges of leadership in The American Legion are often self motivated by a desire to serve others. We serve for the benefit of our veterans, their families, our communities and our nation.
The Post Executive Committee govern the affairs of the Post and consists of voting and nonvoting members.
Voting members of the Executive Committee are: Commander, First Vice-Commander, Second Vice-Commander, Sergeant-at-Arms, Adjutant, Finance Officer, Service Officer, Ways and Means Officer, Judge Advocate, Chaplain, Historian, Parliamentarian, Junior Past (most recent) Commander, First Executive Committeeman and Second Executive Committeeman.
Nonvoting members are the President of The American Legion Auxiliary, Commander of The Sons of The American Legion, President of the American Legion Riders, Scouting Advisor and The Sons of the American Legion Squadron Advisor.
