2012 will be the 7th year of operation for the Oswego Kartway. We have grown by leaps and bounds since 2006 and are very proud of what we have accomplished as a group of racers and volunteers at our 1/12th mile clay facility. We do things a bit different at the bullring, as we offer no payout (most tracks charge more money for an entry fee and then payout a portion to a few racers in each class), it only cost's $15 to come out and race at the kartway and we race for a feature winners sticker, points towards the track championship and hopefully a great time! Up until 2011 we had done almost all the improvements to the kartway on our own as a group, we have a membership program every year and we use that money towards the upgrades at the track. In 2011 the speedway was purchased by John and Eric Torrese and they have helped tremendously in the short time they have been involved.
Here is a little timeline of the life at the bullring.
2006 - Things started out pretty rough at the kartway, there were big dreams but not much success. The track was very rough and the kart counts showed, as a good week was about 20 karts. This photo is from classic weekend in 2006, the karts did not even race that year. They held the mow-4-dough that season (lawnmower races).
