History:
On March 4, 1905, Theodore Roosevelt , our twenty-sixth President, delivered his inaugural address in Washington, DC. He reminded the nation "....no people on Earth have more cause to be thankful than ours...much has been given to us, and much will rightly be expected of us. We have duties to others and duties to ourselves; and we can shirk neither."
President Roosevelt's words resonate with the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self".
