SenioNet is a nonprofit organization that teaches older adults to use computers and the internet to enhance their lives and share their knowledge and wisdom with the world.since 1986, SeniorNet has grown from a small research project to an independent, volunteer-based, non-profit organization that serves adults aged 50 and older. it has an international membership of computer users, hosts two online communities and supports a large network of locally sponsored and operated Learning Centers.SeniorNet is leading the effort to train older adults.
SeniorNet Learning Centers offer a friendly, inexpensive and low-pressur environment in which members learn to use computers and share computing experience and expertise. SeniorNet's basic curriculum is comprised of courses on introduction to computers, word processing and exploring the internet. Many Centers offer additional courses on topics such as genealogy and graphics ."volunteering to teach computers for my local SeniorNet group got me my job. I found such wonderful and interesting people...in this area. If I ever get time off for travel, I know I can send out the word whereI'am going and someone will be there to greet me."
