The Pawlett Historical Society, founded in 1973, owns two one-room brick school houses built in the mid nineteenth century.

In 1998 and 1999 the North Pawlett School underwent extensive renovation. During this period electricity, a stove and lights were added. This created a comfortable work area for volunteers and researchers, an appropriate space for storage of the collection, and an opportunity to attractively display our few large permanent artifacts.
