The Peter Quince Performing Company, Ltd. was founded in 1969 by Reed Humphrey and Emily Mueller. It is a not-for-profit summer theatre organization for young adults between the ages of 12 and 23. Peter Quince prides itself on the ability of its young members. Peter Quince survives on the generous donations of supportive community members.

The contagious spirit of theatre is the driving force behind the Peter Quince Performing Company. Founder Reed Humphrey stated that "the willingness to seek responsibility for what seems to be an impossible venture is the contagious spirit of Peter Quince and the real magic of theatre."
