About Us:

PAWS is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization, founded in Wakefield in 1982 by Esther Nowell. We serve many communities north of Boston.

Our animals are primarily cared for in foster homes since we do not have a shelter.

Adoption Counselors are available each Saturday, 10am - 1pm, 411 Lowell Street, Wakefield, MA. We also meet potential adopters by appointment in our office or at a convenient location throughout the week.

Our mission is to promote and protect the rights and well-being of all domestic animals and wildlife, and foster greater understanding of animal welfare and animal rights through education.
