Plants Beautiful Nursery was founded in 1967 by Ralph Dittberner. The nursery is made up of two farms on about 250 acres, in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. Our nursery stock is harvested mostly from our White Oaks farm, which has been in the family for over 70 years. William and Anna Dittberner originally purchased The White Oaks farm in 1937. Four of the five generations of Dittberners have lived in the old farm house located there.

Being interested in trees, our family started planting christmas trees in the 60's. In the early 70's the business evolved into more than just a christmas tree farm, when we started planting trees to sell as nursery stock.

Lowell took a special interest in the tree business and studied at the University of Minnesota receiving a degree in horticulture.

Today Lowell, his son, Forest, and their families are the managers of the two properties that grow our trees.
