Mission and Activities

The Pleasantville International Association is a nonprofit community organization whose purpose is to promote international good will and better understanding among the peoples of the world, especially through student exchanges.

PIA raises funds to sponsor participation in student exchange programs by Pleasantville students and helps to place foreign exchange students who come to live in the U.S. The programs that PIA works with include AFS, The Experiment in International Living, Interlocken and Youth For Understanding.

Active members are primarily the families of Pleasantville students preparing for or returned from travel during the summers between the Sophomore and Junior or Junior and Senior years of high school, as well as families hosting visiting students. Other interested members of the community are also welcome to participate.
