About Us

The Port Jefferson Public School District is located on the prestigious north shore of Long Island, on Long Island Sound. The history, character, and strong sense of community pride play an important role in the education of our students. The district’s intimate size of approximately 1,345 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade allows each pupil a truly personal educational experience that lasts a lifetime. The maximum development of each student’s skills and talents is realized in the Port Jefferson Public Schools in a nurturing learning environment enhanced by community involvement and tradition.
