The Portsmouth Schools Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation incorporated in the state of Virginia and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) entity. The mission of the Portsmouth Schools Foundation is to actively promote the positive accomplishments in Portsmouth’s public schools and to create opportunities for further improvement.

The Foundation develops and implements programs to support the students and staff of the Portsmouth City Public Schools. The Executive Director serves as the consistent link between the community, the school system’s teachers, principals, parents, and the Foundation’s Board; and oversees the day-to-day functions of the organization.
