Through a commitment to educational excellence in a secure and supportive environment, the P.S. 129 community will inspire students to become lifelong learners and to develop a strong sense of self-worth and respect. We respect different learning styles and encourage students to become independent thinkers and responsible citizens in a diverse world.
Special Programs
P.S. 129 participates in balanced literacy and Everyday Mathematics, Extended Day Enrichment, Peer Tutoring, Peer Mediation, Conflict Resolution and the arts. Children receive specialized instruction through our cluster program including Physical Education, Science, Computer Technology, Math, Art, Dance, Drama, and Music.
Our Community
Our school is active in many charitable organizations. We help support the following organizations:
-March of Dimes - annual Wonder Walk at Halloween
-Hanac Angelo Petromelis Senior Center
-First Reformed Church community dinners
-St. Mary's Children's Hospital
-College Point Board of Trade (Memorial Day Parade)
-Penny Harvest Grant recipients.
-Grade 4 Math-a-Thon to raise money for Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital
