We will heed Christ's call in the Great Commission to "go into all the world" sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with all persons. We believe in God, the Creator of all things seen and unseen. We believe in Jesus Christ, God's agent for the redemption of the world. We believe in the Holy Spirit, actively at work in us and in our world for the purpose of ongoing redemption and deliverance of all people from sin, in whatever form it is manifested: social, economic, racial prejudice, poverty, war, unemployment, or personal.
We United Methodists of Quiet Dell United Methodist Church, and the Wesleyan District, and of the West Virginia Annual Conference see to commit ourselves to service in the church, in our community, and in our larger world, in the name of Christ by sharing our food, clothing, and financial resources with the poor, to the end that their quality of life may be improved, and their rights and dignity upheld. We will serve in Christ's name without regard to a person's race, religion, ethnicity, or sex.
We will strive to be good stewards of all the gifts of God, realizing that God is the true owner of all we possess. God entrusts His gifts to us for the work of the ministry in the world. When we fail in stewardship of our monies, our talents, and our environment, we recognize that this failure is seen as a sin against God and our neighbor. We repent of our failure, and pray for God's grace to forgive us and restore a right relationship of faithfulness, for this is the rule we strive to live by. However, let it be said, that we acknowledge the greatest and best rule of faithfulnesses "to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves." We will be a people who pray for peace and justice in our land and throughout the world. We will be a people who pray for God's Kingdom to come "on earth as it is in heaven," and will commit ourselves to faithfulness to this end.
