Our Mission Statement...
To increase the quality of life and economic opportunties for Randolph County citizens through the promotion, service, and development of civic-minded tourism.
A little history & technical stuff...
In March 2007 the Randolph County Convention and Visitors Bureau (Rccvb) was formed as part of the Randolph County Community and Economic Development Foundation. The Randolph Economic Development Corporation (Redc) is also a part of the Foundation. The Rccvb and Redc work closely together and with the community in order to improve the quality of life for its residents and to bring wealth into the county. Nurturing a place people want to visit goes hand in hand with nurturing a place people want to live.
In 2008 the county adopted the Indiana uniform code for collecting innkeeper's tax. It was the 68th Indiana county to adopt the economic development tool that must be used for the promotion and development of tourism. Our lodging facilities collect the 5% tax from our overnight guests which is then passed onto the Randolph County Tourism Commission. The Rccvb utilizes the funds in accordance with the state code and reports back to the 11-member Tourism Commission.
Scottie Harvey serves as the Director of the Rccvb. She is a life long Randolph County native. She served as Executive Assistant to Randolph Economic Development and Rccvb from 2011 to 2014. Harvey resides in Winchester and is very active in many community committees.
Despite the Rccvb consisting of only 1 staff member, we are very active in local, regional, and state organizations. We are proud members of the Indiana Foodways Alliance, East Region Tourism Marketing Co-op, and the Association of Indiana Convention and Visitors Bureaus.
We look forward to making your visit a wonderful one to remember or even welcoming you to the community permanently!
