About Us:

The Riceboro RiceFest is an annual celebration held the first and second weekends of November. If you are looking for an educational and entertaining event honoring the heritage of rice farming and the Gullah Geechee culture, then save those dates! Each year we offer food, music, competitions, and exhibits that make for a great weekend visiting Riceboro, Ga.

The first RiceFest was held in downtown Riceboro in 2007 to commemorate the legacy of the Gullah Geechee people who have influenced the eastern coast of the United States from North Carolina to northern Florida through music, language, and food. Each year it has grown to offer form education, entertainment and empowerment for all who come.

The RiceFest now includes a youth essay contest, Miss Liberty RiceFest Pageant, Riceboro GospelFest, Riceboro Homecoming Dance, RiceFest Parade, Rice Cook Off, and Festival Day.
