Club History:
We see ourselves as individuals of good character and community standing, residing or having other community interests within our club area. Members who want to become personally involved in making their communities better places in which to live. Members working together to achieve what individuals cannot do alone. The club projects are determined by local needs
Kiwanis International was founded in Detroit, Michigan on January 21, 1915, by Allen Browne as a fraternal club for business and professional's. The original name was "The Supreme Lodge of Benevolent Order of Brothers." We didn't want to be known as the bortherhood of the "BOBS" so some say the name was soon changed to Kiwanis, an Indian term meaning "To Express One's Self." The Kiwanis spirit spread to Canada, Mexico and other countries. Today, Kiwanis Clubs are in more than 88 nations or other governing bodies. Today, there are approximately 9,000 Kiwanis Clubs and more than 259,000 members worldwide.
We achieve our goals by working through our committees who in turn decide what it is we do for the community and kids
