About the Club:
Rotary Club of La Jolla has about 140 members. Founded in 1947, it is part of Rotary International, a global network of more than 31,000 clubs. Rotary is an organization of almost 1.3 million community volunteers in 163 countries, business and professional leaders who collaborate to provide community and humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards, and help build good will and peace in the world.
Rotary Club of La Jolla focuses on education, including scholarships to help students from local high schools attend college, scholarships for students in a San Diego remedial high school striving to complete their high school years, and scholarships to help superior students in poor communities in Tijuana, Mexico enter secondary schools and achieve education through the 12th grade. Rotary Club of La Jolla has four sister clubs: La Mesa Rotary Club of Tijuana; Rotary Club of León, Mexico; Rotary Club of Sasebo, Japan; Rotary Club of Madrid, Spain. Each club encourages its members and delegations to visit sister clubs.
