About Us
The St. Andrew's Performing Arts Series (SAPAS) 2009-2010 repertoire fully matches the characteristics and values established in SAPAS' first six seasons:
- SAPAS is all about intimate performances, experienced "up close and personal"
Listen to chorale groups, singers, and chamber ensembles in a setting where you can look the performers in the eye and hear every word or note, and marvel at the details of musicianship. In a metropolitan area that abounds in performing arts opportunities, you have many chances to experience memorable performances . . . but rarely this close to the action!
- SAPAS is all about encouraging young performers
We have a great record of identifying and bringing to you young performers with exceptional talent, many with Boston or Metrowest connections.
- SAPAS is all about variety
Each season's program has included a range of different elements, and the 2009-10 season is no exception.
- SAPAS is all about engaging the community
In May 2010 we will be undertaking a new choral performance by the SAPAS Chorus, assembled from Wellesley and surrounding communities, under the direction of John Della Vecchia.
As in previous seasons, members of the Wellesley Society of Artists will exhibit their works at our concerts. The combination of visual artists and performing artists provides an artistic dimension that SAPAS has carefully fostered over the years.
