About Us
At St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Merritt Island, Florida, we honor the past, live in the present and prepare for the future. We believe that the mission of the Church is to bring all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. We pursue this mission as we pray and worship, proclaim the Gospel and promote justice, peace, and love. Together we seek to help people become closer to God and to develop our ability to love all of our neighbors as Christ loves us.
Honoring our past... In memory of our founding families, LaRoche, Porcher and Sams, and all who followed, we have lovingly restored our first church building, the Chapel, and worked to have it listed in the National Register of Historical Places.
Living in our present... St. Luke's Parish offers a full program of worship and Christian Education on Sunday mornings. We enjoy the fellowship of our Parish Family through regular Sunday brunches, picnics, dinners, and other functions. We support the mission of the church with monetary gifts for churches and schools in Honduras and other areas of mission activities and for the Central Brevard Sharing Center. We continue to expand our outreach activities.
Preparing for our Future... We are growing in attendance and programs. We are striving to make our newcomers feel welcome and wanted in our warm, friendly, caring Parish family. Part of that welcome is to make room for them to join us in worship and fellowship. It is up to us to prepare our church to meet the growing needs of our Parish and our community.
We remember that since 1886, St. Luke's has sought to offer the love and worship of God through Jesus Christ by serving its neighbors and to make a positive contribution to the spiritual growth of Merritt Island, Central Brevard County, and the wider world. Together, we will strive to continue this mission.
