About Us
Santa Margarita Elementary School has been educating the children of Camp Pendleton families since 1960. Our proud Mighty Mustang heritage includes being a 2004 California Distinguished School, a 2005 Title One Academic Achievement School and a 2005 National Blue Ribbon School . We currently have 500 students enrolled in grades Kindergarten through Fifth and three classes of Special Education Preschoolers. Our classroom teachers, School-Based Resource Teacher, and Resource Specialist work as an professional team to continually develop the learning environment to ensure success for all students.
Our students' education is designed for achieving proficiency on the California Academic Standards. To that end, a variety of supports including extended day programs, Homework Club, Operation Orchard, and Rolling Readers are offered during and after school. Fourth and Fifth Grade students may choose to participate in our excellent instrumental music program. Our GATE Program supports differentiated instruction for gifted students and a series of after-school Problem Solver opportunities.
Our school family supports students with multiple lunch recess options (computer activities, chess club, dance group, etc.), access to on-site counseling, Citizen of the Month celebrations, bi-weekly WOW assemblies, and a Student Study Team. Our exceptionally supportive PTO produces a fabulous Fall Festival , a convenient Santa's Workshop and other school spirit activities. All who work at and attend Santa Margarita Elementary School welcome you to be part of our “Place where all students succeed.”
