The box you will recieve every week will contain the freshest varieties of produce in Vernon County. You can expect to see a little of everything. In the spring you'll see some traditional spring produce such as spinach, radish, lettuce, asparagus, spring broccoli, etc. In the Summer or peak season you'll see many of your favorites such as tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn, carrots, potatoes, cabbage etc. And even into the fall months there is still quite a variety such as winter squash, onions, leeks, garlic, celery and the likings. We also encorage our members to try some items that they may not ordinarily purchase at a grocery store such as celeriac root, radicchio, cilantro, arugula, and more. Each year we experiment with new varieties of vegetables as well. You'll recieve a newsletter with "News from the Farm" and recipe ideas via e-mail weekly.

The Small Family CSA Farm is located in the Driftless Region of Southwest Wisconsin near La Farge and Viroqua. We are stewards of 21 beautiful ridge-top acres of land.

We offer a 20-week local food subscription program. Community members subscribe to our farm via a CSA membership to ensure their share in the season's produce. We primarily grow annual vegetables using organic and biodynamic methods. We take a special interest in the fertility and mineral balancing of our soils. We strive to nourish our soils with as much of a variety of biodegradable composts and manures as possible to, in turn, create a healthy soil that produces nutrient-dense foods. We also take soil test to evaluate the mineral structure of the soils to learn what elements need balancing and what more we can do to improve the health and vitality of the soil.
