The Mission of the South Bristol Elementary School is to inspire excellence in all aspects of education by providing an environment where the pursuit of knowledge is not just the right of every individual, but is also a personal goal.

Vision

South Bristol Elementary School will

- Establish and pursue standards of excellence in all aspects of education that will enable our students to achieve academic and co-curricular goals, learn to make responsible personal and educational choices, and to experience the joy of learning.

- Provide an atmosphere of safety and respect that encourages self-discovery and risk-taking, and encourages each individual to reach their fullest potential.

- Celebrate the diversity that is a result of the uniqueness of each individual in South Bristol and in the world.

- Take advantage of the unique opportunities for creativity and individualization presented by the school's small size, beautiful location, and wealth of community resources.

- Provide educational experiences that are integrated with everyday life and rooted in the cultural values and maritime traditions of the community.

- Recognize that education is an ongoing and changing process where community members, parents, school administrators, teachers, staff, and students collaborate to develop curriculum, assessments, and school programs.
