The South Bristol Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the town of South Bristol, Maine, USA.
The department responds to approximately 20 fire related calls, 65 medically related calls, and 30 other types of emergencies per year utilizing volunteers. We serve a
State of Maine
population of approximately 800 people year round, swelling to approximately 2000 people in the summer.
The department operates three pumpers, two tankers, one medical rescue, and one water rescue (with 12 foot inflatable boat) ,a 16ft rescue boat, out of two stations.
The department provides first responder medical care up to the ALS level in conjunction with Central Lincoln County Ambulance, in Newcastle, who provides transport for our patients to Miles Memorial Hospital.
The department is dispatched by the Lincoln County Communications Center in Wiscasset.
