South Londonderry Township is a Township of the Second Class. It is a rural community where farming is still an important characteristic of the area. The Township is located in south central Pennsylvania, between Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Lebanon. Many State highways pass through, or nearby South Londonderry Township making access to these areas very convenient.The Board of Supervisors is comprised of three Supervisors. They are elected during a general election for six-year terms. The Board's primary responsibility is making policy for the Township and maintaining fiscal stability for Township services.The 2000 census shows the population of South Londonderry Township to be approximately 5,458. This Township is part of the Palmyra Area School District.
