South Side Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church and is supportive of the Cooperative Program. Cooperating in missions supports efforts locally, state wide, throughout the continent of North America and the world. We also have a number of our members, adult and youth, who periodically volunteer for short periods of time to help on the mission field.Members have gone to Russia, to New Ginuiea, to Mexico, and have worked with the Habitat for Humanity. Their efforts and the churches support represent our involvement from local to international endeavors. The WMU (Women's Missionary Union) of South Side promotes mission awareness. The circle meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The circle is named for Mary Tiefel who, along with here husband Jim, serve as missionaries to the Czech Republic. The Tiefels are former staff members of South Side. Jim and Mary joined the staff as Associate Pastor and Minister of Education respectively, in October of 1981. The Tiefels resigned in September of 1984 to serve full-time on the foreign mission field.
