About Us:
As Spangle Community Church celebrated its 125th birthday this past year, we were reminded of an amazing history and unique role this church has played in helping to shape and define this community – from generation to generation. It was city founder, William Spangle himself who determined that one of his first priorities was to set aside land to be donated for a community church. Denominational affiliation was of great importance to believers of that era, but not so to William Spangle. He believed that an area settled by people from differing backgrounds and religious ideologies should have a common place to worship – void of any prejudicial denominational attachment. More specifically, Spangle envisioned a community church in which Christian believers from all walks of life could worship together in the unity of their faith as defined by the Apostle Paul, “...one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Ephesians 4:5-6
