The Spring Grove Area Historical Preservation Society was organized in 1986 with the purpose to provide a historical legacy for this and future generations of Spring Grove Area residents. Society meetings are scheduled on the 3rd Tuesday of odd-numbered months. The official publication of the Society, The Historical "RIPPLET" is issued to members six (6) times a year.
The Society Museum is located in the Spring Grove Area Community Center. The entrance is from the parking lot, located on Pine Avenue between College and Constitution Avenues. The museum is comprised of three Artifacts Rooms. Each of which keynotes a theme. One room exhibits "School" Artifacts; another preserves "Community" (industrial, commercial, organizations, military, advertising, etc.), with the third room promoting "Heritage," i.e. Appreciation-of-Heritage.
Geographically, the Society promotes local history involving the 4 townships (Heidelberg, Jackson, North Codorus, and Paradise) and 4 Boroughs (Jefferson, New Salem, Seven Valleys, and Spring Grove) in the Spring Grove Area School District.
The Museum is Free and open to the public. Visiting hours are Thursday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. and the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. Closed on holidays.
