Spring Hill Historic Home is an 1820's rural home complete with furnishings collected over the decades by Quakers Thomas and Charity Rotch, who built the house, and by three generations of the Wales family who later lived there.
Thomas Rotch brought his flock of 400 Merino sheep to Spring Hill in 1811. He founded the nearby town of Kendal, which has become partof Massillon, Ohio. Charity started an early vocational school near their home.

The home was a station on the Underground Railroad. Fugitiveslaves were hidden in the upper story of the house.

Wig and false teeth drawers, a bee room, the "secret" stairway, and a tiny children's playroom are among the favorite features. The bake-oven in the basement family kitchen is one of the few originals operable in Ohio.

Outdoor tours include a springhouse, a smoke house, woolhouse, and milkhouse. Old-fashioned gardens and a nature path through the woods add to the country atmosphere.
