About:
Growing All Natural Farm Fresh Produce!
In 2000 Steve and Wendy Smith decided to plow up their pasture, remodel a horse barn into a greenhouse and grow All Natural Produce the Good Ol Fashioned Way – No harmful Pesticides or Herbicides. Enduring sore muscles, lots of tears and experiencing tons of joy – Spyglass Gardens is a testament to hard work, Love for God, His Earth and Faith in each other.
The farm has evolved over the years, adding a commercial size greenhouse, extending their land for more crops, planting fruit trees, berry, strawberry beds and dozens of chickens providing huge eggs daily. Spyglass Gardens also offers a custom grow program – creating hanging baskets, containers small and large for homes, offices and commercial settings. Over 300 hanging baskets are grown each year!
The past 15 years Spyglass Gardens offered a CSA Program (community supported agriculture) for those in the Treasure Valley and also offering “bulk produce” (Asparagus, Tomatoes, Beans, Cucumbers, Berries, Peaches, Apples, Pears) for the preserver by appointment. In 2009 Steve and Wendy found the need to bring their tasty produce to the folks in Valley County. Each week starting in late June they travel every Wednesday to Valley County’s Alpha Nursery (located on Hwy 55 south of Cascade) loaded trailer is packed with Fresh Picked, Farm Fresh Produce and selling to the residents. They also offered a CSA program insuring those members, in Valley County, of a weekly basket option.
