St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers, rooted in the tradition of the Catholic Church and the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration, exists to improve the health of our community.

We provide quality services in a trustworthy, compassionate manner through a continuum of care with a special concern for the health needs of the poor and disenfranchised.

St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers offers services in Beech Grove, Indianapolis, Mooresville and Plainfield, Ind.

St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers traces its origin back to 1914 when the Order of the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration founded a hospital in Beech Grove, Ind. The Sisters are dedicated to upholding the sanctity of human life and meeting human needs in a holistic manner. It is this philosophy that guides the development and operation of St. Francis.

Today, is one of the largest health care systems in Indiana, with three main facilities in Beech Grove, Indianapolis and Mooresville. Additional outpatient facilities are located throughout the southern and western parts of greater Indianapolis, including our new St. Francis - Plainfield Health Center, which opened in April 2006. St. Francis Hospital is part of a network of 12 growing hospital campuses in Indiana and Illinois owned and operated by the Sisters of St. Francis Health Services, Inc.

Since its beginnings more than 90 years ago, St. Francis continues to be a leader in employing the latest medical advances with state-of-the-art facilities, symbolizing the health care of tomorrow. St. Francis is the only teaching hospital in Indiana to receive the HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellenceâ„¢ three years consecutively, and is ranked among the top 5% of all hospitals in the country for overall clinical performance.
